Our projects range from small and simple geometries, such as anchor chains, to complex mechanical systems such as offshore wind turbines or subsea wells for the oil & gas industry.
We are also used in conjunction with system integration, i.e. analysis of total systems composed of multiple components that very well may be produced by various vendors.
Fedem Technology can perform independent engineering tasks, or be engaged as a member in our customer's own project team.
Our customers are often international energy companies or suppliers with their own engineering organization that we work closely together with throughout the project.
Our services often include one or more of the following elements:
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
- Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
- Dynamic simulations (Multi Body System Dynamics), and virtual testing
- Vibrations, fatigue damage and lifetime assessment
The complete structure can be built up in the same model in such a way that connections between different models and several analysis are avoided.
The global structure can contain very detailed models (mesh) in critical areas where the largest loads or uncertainties are expected. Beam-, shell and volume elements can be combined efficiently in one single model of the total system.
By using the effective super-element technology, the dynamic simulations are carried out in long time series for optimum prediction of extreme conditions, fatigue damage and lifetime.
